The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Is Here, Revealing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voices
Nintendo alongside Illumination released the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. It was showcased in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that focused exclusively on the upcoming animated film.
Following up on the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will send Mario to the far corners of the galaxy. In his journey, he meets a different royal figure and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
A Cosmic Adventure Inspired by Beloved Titles
Much like the games from the Wii period that act as its source material, Mario will depart from the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. During his grand adventure, he will meet again some well-known personalities, such as the Luma, a fan favorite from the previous film.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who reportedly wields metal-based powers. Notably, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Come Back and Grow
The feature will feature once again of the original voice cast, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. It was announced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.
Mario's Major Moment
The upcoming Mario film is scheduled to arrive around the time of the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 is shaping up to be a significant year for Mario and his friends.
The company has three new games already confirmed for 2026, including Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a new Yoshi platformer titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Premiere Date Announced
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2026.
