Discover Twenty-Nine Fresh Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-loving heroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The well-known TCG's company, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a special panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Is this a radical new set or yet another crossover cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Take a look below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key context. Everything mentioned here launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before we get into the many special decks and collections on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let's unpack a couple of surprising details. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu, in which players can play big creatures into the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells as well. The designers also used this chance to clean up the ability a bit (Sneak counts as casting, as opposed to the older mechanic). Ninjutsu is staying, but chances are players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

Should we go back to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability since that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” a senior game designer explained. “However on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable we’ll use the updated version.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with unique artwork designed exclusively for the expansion by TMNT original artist the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your main deck, many players were. Yet according to the developers, it’s now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:

Following the company’s current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they took care to ensure the cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for over a year and we were aware it was going to be in standard and what other sets were going to be near it in Standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

After declining to create any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards that can serve as your Commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability named “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone rather than just one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise due to demand. Wizards told that it contains 43 brand-new cards altogether, which translates to an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprints if we estimate the precon includes 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles version of Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, the company is offering a bundle. This one costs $69.99 and contains the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza lands
  • 5 Foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with all-new TMNT artwork. Wizards revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings on a pizza. There are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to play draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (aka, the prize for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (for building your deck)
  • 10 Regular token cards
  • 1 drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products specifically for beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.

The concept here that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
